I’ve Got Sixpence

Australian Folk Song
Arranged by Michael Levi
TTBB Chorus, a cappella
392-02523

This humorous Australian folk song receives a buoyant treatment here. Adhering to mostly traditional harmonies, the arranger allows the simple jollity of the text to prevail. Musical variety is created as an increasingly animated counterpoint—usually in the two lower voices—sung against the main melody. I’ve Got Sixpence is fun and entertaining, making for a lighthearted diversion in any concert.
